A new four-part series of One Pound coins was introduced in 2013, each coin in the set was designed to represent one of the constituent parts of the United Kingdom. The theme for this series was floral emblems paying homage to the plant series designed by Leslie Durbin. England is represented on this coin by the depiction of a Rose and a Sprig of Oak Leaves. Below the floral emblems, the inscription ‘ONE POUND’ is shown. The obverse side features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.
