Description

A new series of one pound coins emerged in 1994, the theme for this new series was heraldic emblems and the designer responsible was Norman Sillman. The first release represented Scotland with a rampant lion encircled in a double tressure flory counter-flory, below the inscription reads ‘ONE POUND’. Raphael Maklouf’s portrayal of her majesty the queen occupies the obverse.
